Our story

Founded in 2018 by practicing clinicians, Definition Health develops personalised digital patient pathways designed to enhance efficiency and outcomes for clinical teams and patients

The beginning of Definition Health 

Driven by a strong desire to increase efficiency, reduce unnecessary outpatient appointments, and minimise last-minute surgery cancellations, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr Sandeep Chauhan, and Consultant Radiologist, Dr Rosie Scott, founded Definition Health in 2018. ​
​
With the primary aim of delivering a better, personalised, digital approach to surgery for their patients and hospitals, they embarked on this transformative journey. Together with a team of 10 NHS consultants and expert software developers, they began developing the Definition Health Smart Surgery Solution, a unique combination of tools designed to optimise the surgical pathway.

Our history

​The launch of LifeBox, our electronic pre-operative assessment system, marked the beginning of our journey, followed by the introduction of Connect, which transformed patient consultations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, we have continued to leverage cutting-edge technology and data-driven insights to expand our suite of products and digitise the whole surgical journey.

With the launch of Recovery in 2021, we began supporting patients through their post-operative recovery and delivered an end-to-end digital solution which is now deployed in  hospitals across the UK, benefiting more than 400,000 patients.
