The team at Brighton-based business, Definition Health, is celebrating its second award in just seven days.
Last night, the digital health technology specialists – members of the Sussex Innovation Centre based in Falmer –came top in the Innovation in Business category at the Sussex Business Awards.
Just one week ago, Definition Health was named the ‘Most Innovative Solution for a Wicked Healthcare Problem’ at the National Healthcare Excellence Through Technology (HETT) Awards 2022.
“We are absolutely delighted that our digital health care solutions have been recognised both locally and nationally,” says Mr Sandeep Chauhan, a Sussex-based consultant orthopaedic surgeon who co-founded Definition Health in 2018 with Dr Rosie Scott, a practising NHS consultant radiologist together with a team of Sussex-based medical consultants and digital experts. “These awards reflect the hard work and determination of everyone at Definition Health and our amazing hospital partners who have embraced digital transformation to drive better patient experience and improve safety.”
The awards were given for Definition Health’s suite of digital surgical solutions which include Definition LifeBox a digital pre-operative health assessment app, Definition Connect, a virtual clinic, and Definition Recovery, which supports patients at home after they have had their operation. The digital software improves patient safety, reduces unnecessary face- to-face visits and delivers a `virtual ward’; to enhance post-discharge care. Twenty hospitals, both NHS and private, use LifeBox e-POA to pre-assess patients ahead of planned operations and, to date, 100,000 patients across England have now had their surgical pre-assessments done from the comfort and safety of their homes.
