Definition Health is excited to be taking to the stage at Future Surgery

Definition Health is excited to be taking to the stage at Future Surgery to talk about innovation alongside one of Europe’s largest joint replacement centres.

Mr Sandeep Chauhan, co-founder of this award-winning digital health solutions company,  will be interviewing Mary Richardson, managing director of South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC), as part of a discussion about this year’s NHS National Innovation Accelerator programme.

Definition Health was one of just 12 innovators chosen to be part of the NIA initiative to enable its digital products to scale across the NHS in England and offer solutions to the NHS’s most pressing needs. SWLEOC, based at Epsom Hospital, Surrey, was one of the first to adopt Definition Health’s LifeBox pre-operative health assessment (ePOA) app before the COVID-19 outbreak. This early adoption played an essential role in getting SWLEOC’s operating waiting lists back on track by August 2020 following the first national lockdown.

The symposium takes place at The Future Surgery show, hosted at ExCeL London on the 9th – 10th November. Mr Chauhan will be speaking to Mary from 9 am-9.25 am in Theatre 3 on Wednesday, November 10.

Attendance to  Future Surgery is free for healthcare professionals – please register here:

Throughout the two-day Future Surgery show, Definition Health will be on STAND N8 – N14 AF60 showcasing its web-based apps which provide an end-to-end digital surgical journey for patients.

These apps include:

  • Definition LifeBox pre-operative health assessment (ePOA) app which generates patient-specific questions to fully determine each patient’s health before surgery;
  • Definition Connect which provides a secure environment for patients, hospitals and consultants to communicate and share critical health information;
  • and Definition Recovery which allows patients to virtually record mood, pain levels, sleep patterns and wound healing for six weeks after their operation.

Definition Health’s digital solutions are currently being used by nine hospitals across England, both private and NHS, and to date around 72,600 patients are being pre-assessed by Definition LifeBox.

“We are very excited to attend this unique show and have the chance to demonstrate our digital solutions with more surgical professionals face to face to help prepare for the challenges ahead brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic,” says Sandeep Chauhan, orthopaedic surgeon and co-founder of Definition Health.
